Reasons To Hire An Electrician

“Reno,” people say, “I’m a pretty smart guy. I do well on those internet tests. Why can’t I just do some of my own electrical work? Why do I need an electrician?”

This is a good and valid question. Everyone wants to feel like their money is well-spent, and our customers are certainly no exception.

There are some important reasons to have a licensed, insured and bonded electrician serve your electrical needs.

No one wants to see one of these fall onto their dining room table.

It's the tools. We so love our tools!

Knowledge. It is a fair bet that any normally intelligent person who goes messing around with electricity uses a fair amount of caution. But, a certified electrician is required to take a state exam, and, while he won’t use every bit of knowledge it took him to pass that test, a fair amount of it is pertinent to everyday situations he encounters on the job. While you know you blew a breaker four times last week, you may not know why.

Quality. Especially when it comes to wiring and other things which could set a house on fire, quality comes from training and experience, which translates into repetitive excellence. This also includes the right tools and equipment. Not just the regular testers and other tools, but also safety gear.

What happens if you don't have the permit?

Safety codes and building inspections. When a certified electrician does a job, not only can you be assured that not only knows the permits he needs and meets local building codes, but will also pass a home sale inspection or an insurance claim inspection. Do you really want your Uncle Dave to set you up with an unlicensed repair you’ll have to go back and redo later?

Insurance.  Not just your insurance, but ours, as well. We carry insurance because you shouldn’t be liable if something happens to one of our crew members on the job  or as the result of an error on our part.

Bonded. Since we are bonded, you have an assurance that we will finish the work. The point of a bond is that a business or homeowner can recoup their loss in the event a company reneges on the job. Not something you ever need to worry about with us, but it’s still nice to know you always have a fallback.

Technology. We are all fond of the latest and greatest in technology, which isn’t even close to it’s prime.  Electronics are still pretty expensive, and can easily be damaged or even catch on fire if care isn’t taken with them. Since electricians also love electronics, we keep a sharp eye on the tech market. When we see a new product, if that product seems like it will be a good fit for your home or business, we’ll recommend it. Because when you look good, it makes us look good, too.
